RIYADH: The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen said the Terrorist Houthi Militia carried out a terrorist attack targeting the Taibah electricity distribution station in Madinah early Tuesday, September 29, 2026.

Official Spokesperson of the Coalition Major General Turki Al-Malki said the attack took place at 5:11 AM and that an investigation by the competent authorities had confirmed the involvement of the Terrorist Houthi Militia in planning and executing the attack.

He said the conclusion was based on an after-action review and evidence gathered from the wreckage of the drone used in the attack.

According to Major General Al-Malki, the attack resulted in one power transformer being taken out of service, but did not affect the electricity network.

He said the attack targeted a civilian facility providing electricity to the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.

Major General Al-Malki described the attack as a continuation of the extremist militia’s attempts to target the Two Holy Mosques and deliberately provoke millions of Muslims worldwide by targeting Makkah and Madinah.

The Coalition spokesperson said the Coalition would continue to take and implement measures to deter the Terrorist Houthi Militia and ensure the protection of the Two Holy Mosques and the safety of pilgrims in Makkah and Madinah.
