ISLAMABAD: PTCL Group’s revenue surged 62% year-on-year in the first nine months of 2026, while net profit reached Rs4.7 billion, as the integration of Telenor Pakistan boosted its mobile business and growth continued across broadband and enterprise services.
According to the group’s financial results for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, consolidated operating profit increased by 181% year-on-year, reflecting the contribution of the enlarged mobile business and improved performance across key segments.
Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) recorded 9% revenue growth during the period, supported by rising demand for high-speed broadband and enterprise technology services. Flash Fiber revenue increased by 26%, Business Solutions revenue rose by 15%, Carrier and Wholesale services grew by 13%, and international business revenue increased by 11%.
PTCL reported an operating profit of Rs11 billion and a net profit of Rs3 billion, with net profit rising by 343% compared with the corresponding period last year.
The mobile business was a major contributor to the group’s financial performance following the amalgamation of Telenor Pakistan with Pakistan Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML). PTML’s revenue increased by 139% year-on-year, while its operating profit rose by 181% to Rs33.5 billion.
PTML added 1.5 million subscribers during the third quarter, taking its total subscriber base to more than 76 million. The company also reported growth in average revenue per user (ARPU), which it attributed to portfolio harmonisation, increased usage and network integration.
The company continued expanding its 5G footprint in major cities, while network integration progressed across 25 districts. Its priorities include further network consolidation, 5G expansion, improved network quality and enhanced digital services.
The group’s microfinance banking business also reported an improvement in operating performance. U Microfinance Bank generated revenue of Rs18.3 billion during the nine-month period and recorded an operating profit, compared with an operating loss in the corresponding period last year. Its bottom line improved by 84%.
In the fixed-line business, Flash Fiber remained a key driver of growth as PTCL continued expanding its broadband services and customer offerings. During the quarter, the company introduced a limited-period Azadi Offer combining 100 Mbps Flash Fiber connectivity with an IPTV set-top box.
PTCL also partnered with Mercantile, an Apple-authorised distributor, to introduce the iPhone 18 in Pakistan alongside a Flash Fiber bundle, combining smartphone sales with fixed broadband services.
The Business Solutions segment continued to benefit from demand for information and communications technology services, including cloud solutions, cybersecurity, managed services, data centres and on-premises artificial intelligence infrastructure.
PTCL also maintained its role in submarine connectivity, IP bandwidth and domestic bandwidth services, supporting the connectivity needs of telecom operators, businesses and other service providers.
Alongside its commercial operations, the group continued programmes focused on digital inclusion and social development. Under its Ba-Ikhtiar initiative, 2,100 women across 22 districts completed training in digital marketing, e-commerce and digital financial literacy through U Bank. Participants received Ufone 5G SIMs with free connectivity and UPaisa digital wallets to facilitate access to digital services.
PTCL also signed a memorandum of understanding with ConnectHear to deploy SILA, an artificial intelligence-powered sign language solution, at selected customer service centres in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. The initiative is intended to improve access to customer services for people with hearing disabilities, with the possibility of expansion.
PTML partnered with the United Nations’ Polio Eradication Initiative, operated by UNICEF through the National Emergency Operations Centre, to provide GSM connectivity to frontline healthcare workers across the country.
The group also received recognition for its marketing and communications campaigns. PTCL secured five awards at Dragons of Pakistan 2026, including one Silver, one Bronze and three Black Dragons. Ufone and Telenor Pakistan collectively received nine awards, comprising two Gold, two Silver and five Black Dragons, for campaigns covering marketing, public relations, media, digital communications and content creation.
The results highlight the growing contribution of the mobile business following the Telenor Pakistan amalgamation, alongside continued growth in broadband and enterprise services. However, the 62% increase in consolidated revenue also reflects the enlarged business following the integration and should not be interpreted as purely organic growth.
