ISLAMABAD: Gold prices in Pakistan declined by Rs1,000 per tola on Tuesday, tracking a fall in international bullion rates, with the precious metal settling at Rs462,136 per tola.
According to rates released by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold decreased to Rs462,136 per tola after falling by Rs1,000 during the day.
The price of 10-gram gold also declined by Rs857, reaching Rs396,207.
The latest reduction in domestic gold prices came in line with a decline in the international bullion market, where the price of gold fell by $10 to $4,396 per ounce.
The downward movement in local gold prices follows another significant decline recorded a day earlier. On Monday, gold prices in Pakistan had dropped by Rs2,400 per tola, bringing the price to Rs463,136.
With Tuesday’s additional decline, gold has now registered a further reduction of Rs1,000 per tola from Monday’s level.
The latest movement highlights the close link between domestic bullion prices and international gold rates, with changes in global prices reflected in the local market.
Gold remains one of the most closely watched commodities in Pakistan, with price movements affecting consumers, investors, jewelers and traders. Changes in bullion prices can influence purchasing decisions, particularly among consumers looking to buy gold for savings, investment or traditional purposes.
Meanwhile, silver prices moved in the opposite direction on Tuesday. The price of silver increased by Rs10 per tola to reach Rs7,069.
The divergent movement in gold and silver prices comes as precious-metal markets continue to remain under close watch by local traders and investors.
The latest domestic gold rate now stands at Rs462,136 per tola, while 10-gram gold is available at Rs396,207. International gold, meanwhile, is trading at $4,396 per ounce.
The precious metals market is expected to remain closely monitored by investors and jewellers as movements in international bullion prices continue to influence domestic rates.
