Global oil prices edged higher after Yemen’s Houthi group claimed fresh attacks on energy infrastructure, airports and military targets in Saudi Arabia, raising concerns over potential disruptions to oil supplies from the region.

Brent crude futures rose by 17 cents, or 0.15%, to $110.03 per barrel, according to reports. The increase followed a decline of more than $3 during the previous trading session, when investors booked profits.

Meanwhile, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures climbed by $1.68, or 1.66%, to $103.09 per barrel, reflecting gains in both major international oil benchmarks.

The latest price movements came after the Houthis claimed on Monday that they had targeted energy facilities, airports and military installations across Saudi Arabia. The reported targets included a Saudi Aramco facility in Yanbu, the Shaybah oilfield, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha Airport.

Reportedly, Saudi authorities had not immediately confirmed the claims of the attacks.

The reported targeting of energy infrastructure has renewed concerns about the security of oil supplies from the region, where any escalation in hostilities could heighten uncertainty in global crude markets.
