ISLAMABAD: Gold and silver prices increased in Pakistan amid a rise in international bullion rates, with the price of 24-karat gold climbing Rs1,200 per tola to Rs437,536.

According to the All Sarafa Market and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold rose to Rs437,536 per tola, making the precious metal more expensive for consumers and investors.

The price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams also increased by Rs1,029, reaching Rs375,116.

Meanwhile, the price of 24-karat silver increased by Rs66 per tola to Rs6,588.

The rise in precious metal prices comes as gold gained further ground in the international market. The price of gold increased by $12 per ounce to reach $4,150.

The latest increase is likely to add to the financial burden on consumers planning to purchase gold jewellery, while the continued high prices could also affect demand among middle-income buyers.

For investors, the sustained strength in gold prices continues to keep the precious metal in focus as a store of value amid uncertainty in global markets.

The simultaneous increase in international and domestic gold prices highlights the sensitivity of Pakistan’s bullion market to movements in global precious metal prices.
